“I know I need to spend more time with our donors. I just haven’t been able to get to it.”
Every Executive Director says some version of it. It does not mean you don’t care. It means the conditions were never built for you to do the work. DonorInstinct builds them: it keeps the whole of every relationship in mind, tells you whose move it is, and drafts that move in your own voice. You send it. You decide what it remembers.

Strategic work loses to operational work every time they compete for the same hour.
You are never going to forget who Margaret is. You are going to forget that it has been eleven weeks since you called her, that she asked how the capital campaign was going, and that she has always given in April rather than December.
And Margaret is not calling to complain. She is patient. She is content. So the week goes to whatever is loudest, and the relationships that sustain the organization are the first thing to slip. That is not a character flaw. It is a conditions problem.
Donor software does not fix it. It is built for shops with a thousand records and someone on staff to maintain them. It asks you to do the data entry so that it can hand your own information back to you later.
The method
Partnership, not persuasion. Built in, not written on a poster.
DonorInstinct is not a general-purpose assistant with fundraising bolted on. It runs the InFlow method, a discipline for major-gift work written by a practitioner, and it holds itself to that method sentence by sentence.
It knows how to wait
It reads where each relationship actually stands, and when the right move is no move, it says so. Restraint is a real recommendation, not a failure state.
It does not talk like a sales floor
You will not hear about pipelines, closing, or converting anyone. That promise is checked against every sentence it writes, not asked of it politely.
It puts caring ahead of capacity
Wealth is never a reason to pursue someone. The neighbor who loves your work comes before the stranger who could write a larger check.
Your instinct for people is the asset. Everything here exists to protect it.
How it works
Three steps, and none of them are forms.
Say what happened
After the coffee, the phone call, the run-in at the grocery store: type it or speak it in a sentence or two, in whatever words you would use out loud.
Get the next move, already drafted
It reads the whole relationship, not just the last note, and where it actually stands, from a first hello to a partnership of years. Then it recommends what to do next and drafts it: the email, the message, the plan for the call. In your voice, learned from your own writing.
You send it, and it remembers what you approve
It has no way to reach a donor; every word goes out through you. When you confirm a move, the record updates and the follow-up clock starts. And what it keeps about a person, you read and approve first.
The record
Nothing is sent, and no note is kept, unless you say so.
At twenty donors, every record is a person you know, and a wrong note in the file is worse than no note at all. So before anything is kept about a person, you see it and you approve it, in your words if you prefer them.
What it remembers reads like you talking about someone you know: what she cares about, what landed well, what you could not read. It will not quote you saying something you did not say, and when it does not know a thing, it says so instead of filling the gap.
What it does for you
See whose move it is
The ones waiting on you, the ones you are waiting on, and the ones going quiet, separated at a glance.
Empty your head after an event
Say everything you remember about everyone, in one go. It comes back as one card per person, each with a suggested next step.
It schedules the donor, not the day
Committing to a move opens a follow-up window. When it lapses, that donor surfaces back on your dashboard instead of slipping off it. No task list to groom, no calendar to feed.
Nothing reads along in the background.
It knows what you and your team give it, and nothing else. There is no inbox to connect and no calendar to sync. Your organization’s records are kept apart from every other organization’s, in the application and in the database beneath it. Two-factor sign-in on every account. And this page runs no tracking scripts of any kind.
DonorInstinct is set up with you, not downloaded. Your roster is loaded and the method is tuned to your organization before you sign in for the first time.
